Insangel has been actively promoting/booking the 'grass roots' level of the north-east music scene since 1996 and doing so 'full time' since 2001.
You may remember shows at Rosie Malone's Basement in Sunderland (now Yates), The Archer in Jesmond (now Mr.Lynch) (with Arctic Monkeys, Wildhearts, The Kooks, The Alarm, Enter Shikari, Downset), the.gallery in Chester Moor ( with The Animals), Independent in Sunderland (with Klaxons, The Zutons, The Maccabees, Dogs, Yourcodenameis: Milo, The Hoosiers, Shiny Toy Guns). Now main booker at Durham Live Lounge (and had Gallows, Funeral For Friend, Earthtone 9, And So I Watch You From Afar, Evile and many more up and coming..).

I'm 90% only booking bands I believe will attract a local following.
However, I will make exceptions for bands that appeal to me or who get results of people to the shows to see them. I'm happy to be 'out of pocket' for a great night and to reward and look after the bands that have that special something or who are really nice people overall - there's nothing worse than bad attitudes.
